Island Fever is the culmination of a lifelong passion for the hospitality industry and island lifestyle of Devin & Christine Nelles. They are both hospitality professionals and Boutique Hotel Consultants (www.nichebhoc.com). Island Fever was created from the dream of bringing their passion for food and craft cocktails to life. Island Fever is a Lifestyle Brand that seeks to capitalize on the growing niche of health conscience comfort food.
Back in 2013 they opened with a small wooden cart selling healthy stacked salads and grain bowls to students inside St. George’s University campus. From there they started doing “Pop Up” food events around Grenada. In fact, Island Fever was the first to bring this concept to Grenada. They wanted to start small, develop their following, and build their market one customer at a time.
In 2015 they opened their Freshbar outlet at Container Park offering a different menu made daily from scratch. Again, the first to offer this type of concept in Grenada as well as the first craft cocktail bar in Grenada. They are obsessed with keeping it fresh! They make their own sauces from scratch and developed their flavours and recipes over time through methodical experimentation. The bar offers scratch made sours, house made grenadine syrup, dehydrated garnishes, and even homemade cocktail cherries without artificial ingredients or dyes.
Then came their next concept “The OC” (Off Campus) which opened September 2017 just outside St. George’s University in True Blue. This fast casual concept offers a live Wok Bar making handmade Chow Mein noodles and scratch made sauces and a Burrito Bar offering globally influenced burritos or bowls such as BiBimBop, Bacon Double Cheeseburger Burrito and much, much more.
Official launch will be December 15th, 2018.
Island Fever Tropical Tavern is their newest venture at Le Phare Bleu Villa Resort & Marina in Egmont. The casual seafront restaurant offers a gorgeous view of Petit Calivigny Bay.
The newly renovated space has a lovely fresh tropical, island vibe with high ceilings and colors of the sea throughout.
Island Fever Tropical Tavern will offer an all-day menu featuring regionally influenced Caribbean seafood and comfort food using local ingredients in creative ways. Food that tells a story and has a sense of place.
The craft cocktail program will feature creative twists on mojitos, daiquiris, and play with classic and modern rum and gin based cocktails. House made cocktail cherries, sours, & grenadine and carefully selected top shelf and unique spirits will be featured.
No reservations required for groups of 8 or less…..just come on down as it is meant to be casual!
Groups of 8 or more please contact us directly at 444-2400 to make your booking. Depending on the size of your group we may require you to pre-order just to ensure ease of service.
December 12 and 15 note Tropical Tavern is open during the day until 3pm then closed for the evening.
Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve we are offering a special menu and live entertainment.
